Dublin Bus have announce that they will be stopping all services as of 7pm tonight.

As the Beast from the East hit Ireland, heavy snow caused “major disruption” to public transport services across the country.

And following Met Éireann’s red weather alerts issued for the area, Dublin Bus have confirmed that they would not be running services past 7pm on Wednesday.

They said in a statement:

“Due to the updated forecast for deteriorating weather conditions this evening, Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that we will operate our services this evening until 19.00.

“Last departures to and from the city centre will be at 19.00. Our focus is on operating our services to get customers and employees home safely this evening.”

The statement continued to explain that, as Met Éireann had issued a forecast for heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions, they would not be running services on Thursday.

It read:

“Met Éireann has issued a forecast for heavy snowfall overnight and blizzard conditions tomorrow and, combined with existing road conditions, Dublin Bus will not be in a position to operate any services tomorrow, Thursday, 1 March.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused however this decision has been made in the interest of the safety of our customers and employees.

“We will monitor the situation closely tomorrow and take advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Co-ordination Committee regarding our services on Friday, 2 March.”
