Ellie Goulding took to her Instagram earlier this week to announce she and her partner, Beau Minniear, welcomed a baby girl.
At the time of announcing her daughter's arrival, the Love Me Like You Do singer did not yet share her little one's name.
However, now Ellie has decided to share the sweet name she's chosen for her little girl.
In a message shared in The Times‘ Births, Marriages and Deaths section, a post confirmed: “Minniear-Goulding: On 6th March 2026 to Ellie Goulding and Beau Minniear, a daughter, Iris Edaline”.
The meaning behind the unique name makes it even more special. Iris Edaline is a beautiful combination of two distinct, classic, and meaningful names.
Iris is a Greek name meaning “rainbow,” inspired by the goddess Iris in Greek mythology, who served as a divine messenger and used the rainbow as a bridge between heaven and earth.
Edaline, on the other hand, has English and German roots and means “noble” or “noble leader.” The name is often associated with grace, dignity, honour, and a sense of quiet strength.
In a post on her Instagram stories, Ellie shared a sweet snap of her little one and confirmed that her daughter had arrived safely.
“On Friday, I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. We are totally obsessed with her,” the singer wrote.
“It was fitting that I spent International Women’s Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary’s, who provided my baby and me with extraordinary care and kindness.
“I will always be in the care of midwives. This addition to my family fills me with so much joy, especially as Arthur is so happy to become a big brother to this little angel,” Ellie added.
Goulding is already mum to her four-year-old son Arthur, whom she shares with her ex-husband Caspar Jopling.
Ellie and her current partner, Beau, were first romantically linked in July of last year.
The couple revealed they were expecting their first child together in December, when Ellie debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the Fashion Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
