Fan of Subway? Here’s what you should NEVER order, according to one of their employees

Ew...

Rebecca Keane

Prepare for lunchtime to be ruined.

When it comes to lunches, there are only so many choices on the high street to cure your hunger pangs.

Every street you turn in Dublin there seems to be another shop of the same chain, with Starbucks, O’Briens and Chopped just to name a few.

One of the most popular sandwich chains among people is probably Subway, as their footlong sandwiches boast a whole variety of choices to fill your needs.

According to one employee on Reddit, there are certain ingredients no one should eat from the sandwich stores.

The item in question is chicken, especially in the form of chipotle and teriyaki chicken. He explained

“Avoid: Chipotle Chicken & Teriyaki Chicken (Why? Chicken is given a two day shelf life, once in the counter. However these two bypass this and get four days, and can get a little  stinky)
I’d recommend anything else, subway (at least my subway) is very strict on quality control and dates. Steak is probably the freshest, and safest.”

Talking about how the chicken breasts in Subway aren’t entirely real either, he revealed that they used ‘compressed’ chicken in their food also.

“Subway uses compressed chicken breasts, as in mechanically separated chicken that’s compressed to form a “breast” shape rather than just a slice of chicken breast.”

Lastly, the employee said the best sub on the menu (which is cheap enough as it happens) would be a Meatball Marinara, a Chipotle Chicken, a Tikka Chicken or a Spicy Italian BLT.

A vegetarian sub anyone?
