The woman was hospitalised last weekend.

Gardaí are on the hunt for a man who attacked a pregnant woman in Dublin city centre.

The woman, in her 30s, was attacked by a man believed to be known to her on Dame Street, D2 between 4 and 5am on Sunday, April 25.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where her unborn baby later died. The woman was believed to have been in her third trimester.

According to reports, a manhunt is currently underway by Gardaí, who have yet to determine the man’s whereabouts.

A source told the Irish Daily Mail that the man is also wanted by vigilantes who are known to the victim.

“Gardaí from Pearse Street are extensively reviewing CCTV footage and making enquiries to track this individual down,” the source said.

‘The victim and her family are extremely distressed at what happened and are working with Gardaí to help them in their investigation. It’s obvious the suspect has fled and could be in any part of the country, but Gardaí are confident it’s only a matter of time before he’s taken in.”

The investigation is ongoing.
