Tragic news from Santorini.

A man and woman, both aged 26, were killed when the buggy they were travelling in fell into a 250m ravine at the Aegean Island of Santorini.

According to reports, the married couple had been on a three-hour trip to the Profitis Ilias mountain on Sunday last when the tragic accident happened.

The mountain is thought to be the highest point of the island and it is believed that the driver miscalculated how much space there was when trying to turn the buggy away from the mountain.

As there was no fence or barricade at the edge of the cliff, the buggy plunged almost 650 ft.

Firefighters and emergency services attended but sadly, both Milly and Toby were declared dead at the scene.

The couple, both teachers who worked in South London, had travelled to the Greek island for an Easter holiday.

Steve Coulson, Milly’s father, paid tribute to the couple, telling the BBC:

“Their families are so proud of them, and although devastated, we are comforted by having shared so many wonderful times of love and joy together.”

Steve went on to say that Milly and Toby, who married in 2017, were completely devoted to each other.
