An investigation is underway after an elderly couple were found dead in their home in south Dublin on Monday night.
The alarm was raised shortly after 5.00pm by a relative after the man and woman, both in their 80s, were not seen for a period of time.
Gardaí are said to have found the bodies in the sitting room of the house, located on Landscape Road in Churchtown.
The authorities are not treating the deaths as suspicious and further medical tests are now expected to be carried out.
According to reports, it is suspected that the couple may have died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
