Ireland’s Top Supermarkets For The First Three Months Of The Year Have Been Revealed

Ellen Tannam

Research from Kantar Worldpanel in Ireland has seen Supervalu retain the top spot in terms of Ireland’s best-loved supermarkets.

In general, supermarket sales were boosted by the early Easter, seeing a growth of 4.6%.

Sales of confectionery jumped 32%, obvious enough, considering how many chocolate eggs many of us have been milling into over the last few weeks.

Tesco came in second place followed by Dunnes Stores, a shop which is seeing customers making larger trips and spending more money per visit than other supermarkets.

Lidl and Aldi are neck-and-neck and the German supermarket rivals have just 0.1% in the difference between the two, with Lidl coming out on top, no doubt partially because of their innovative ad campaigns.

What do we think, is this an accurate picture of where you like to shop the most?
