Convicted drug dealer John Gilligan has been taken to hospital after he was shot earlier this evening.
The 62-year-old, who was released from prison back in October, was apparently at his brother’s house in Clondalkin when a gunman kicked down the door shortly after 7.00pm.
According to the
Irish Times, Gilligan was wounded three times in the upper body. The gunman reportedly fled with an accomplice.
Gilligan was treated at the scene by ambulance services before being taken to Blanchardstown Hospital. A spokesperson told
JOE.ie that his injuries "are not thought to be life threatening."
