Veteran broadcater Larry Gogan has passed away. RTÉ announced the death of the star this morning. It was said that he has been ill for a number a years now.
Larry worked in RTÉ for nearly 40 years, with his most popular show being on 2FM. He had a love for music and so remained a DJ on the station since 1979 until 2019.
He left RTÉ 2FM last year and went on to broadcast a show on the digital platform, RTÉ Gold. When he left 2FM, the station was renamed Larry Gogan FM for a day to honour the star.
He was predeceased by his wife Florrie, and is survived by his five children.
