WATCH – Lyndsey Robinson Spoke Bravely About The Homelessness Crisis On Last Night’s Late Late

'The council aren't giving us any hope."

Ireland’s housing crisis is only getting worse, and Dublin woman Lyndsey Robinson appeared on the Late Late Show last night to discuss her experience of homelessness in the country.

She has been living in a hotel with her young daughter for two years after the rental rates for her apartment in Finglas became unaffordable. A single mother, Lyndsey received help from her aunt while she was pregnant, but her house became too overcrowded for them after her daughter was born.

Lyndsey was faced with having to register as homeless, and due to the massive housing shortage, she has been waiting ever since, living in a small and cramped hotel room with her child.

She talked honestly and bravely to Ryan about her mental health struggles because of her housing situation, and how every phone call to Dublin City Council is a sad one.

She even spent some time sleeping in her car with her then one-year-old daughter.

Erica Fleming also spoke about her experience with homelessness, as she is living in a hotel with her daughter since last July.

“People are talking, but there’s no action.”
