The incident occurred yesterday, March 8, around 6pm on Powerstown Road in Tyrrelstown.
A man, aged in his 30s, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was brought to Connolly Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was brought to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman in her 30s, also a passenger in the car, is receiving treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The road was closed for technical examination but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Powerstown Road between 5:30pm and 6:30pm on Saturday 7th March 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
