The fire was brought under control yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí have arrested a man during their investigation into a house fire in Donegal, in which a woman in her 80s was killed.
As RTÉ reports, the fire occurred at a house in the Doochary area in Co. Donegal. It was brought under control at approximately 4:40pm.
The woman's body was discovered inside the property. A man in his 60s has since been arrested in relation to criminal damage. He is currently being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
The scene where the fire took place has been preserved for for a forensic examination. The State Pathologist has been informed about the case.
A post-mortem examination of the woman's body will direct the course of the Gardaí's investigation.
