Fashion is always one step ahead. While we’re just resigning ourselves to the idea of switching our summer wardrobes for tights, coats and boots, those in the upper echelons of the fashion world are flocking to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week and planning what we’ll all be wearing next Spring/Summer.
As well as the clothes walking the runway, we’re paying close attention to the models’ makeup, as the looks which debut on the catwalk are the ones we’ll be trying to perfect at home in the coming months.
Our friends at Maybelline are in New York this week for the biggest event on the yearly fashion calendar, and they’re keeping us up to speed with all things FROW!
So, we’ve got the first heads up on the hottest trends in makeup for the season to come, keeping you one step ahead of the game!
Pucker Up – The guide to gorgeous lips
Dare to Bare
For Spring/Summer daytime looks, dare to go bare. Your natural lips at their very best won't steer you wrong, and this allows you to go more dramatic with other elements of your look. However, if you want the minimal look, you have to make sure your lips are in tip-top condition. (All the better to kiss with!).

Catwalk to sidewalk: Bare lips were the name of the game at Alexander Wang
For this, we recommend Baby Lips, RRP €3.99. We’ve been in love with this collection since it landed on our desk last month, and it’s now a firm fixture in our beauty bag. Opt for one of the three clear balms, Hydrate (which has a lemon and basil scent), Mint or Intense Care, (which has a cherry and almond scent), as all three give your lips that extra loving care, and all three boast an SPF of 20, a very important ingredient!

Hint of a Tint
If the bare look is not one for you, then don't panic, Maybelline have still got you covered. The Baby Lips range also includes three tinted balms; Pink Punch, a soft pink balm with a passionfruit scent, Cherry Me, a red balm with a cherry flavor, and Peach Kiss, a pale peach shade with a scent to match.

Coral Crush
Coral has regined supreme as a fashion staple colour for S/S for a number of seasons now, but it’s the coral beauty buys we’re seriously crushing over. Get the look with Superstay 14h Lipstick in Stay With Me Coral, RRP €10.75. Perfect for a daytime into evening look, so it’s just as well the Superstay lipstick will last you all day long.

Pretty in Pink
Ditch the deep plums for your SS wear and instead opt for bright, sweet pinks. This uber feminine look can be hardened up using strong eye make up.

The Superstay 14h Lipstick in On And On Pink packs a sugary sweet colour punch that’s perfect for a sunny day smile.
