The weather advisory is due to come into effect just after noon on Thursday, October 3. It will last until noon the following day.

Looking towards the rest of the forecast, Met Éireann have said Wednesday morning’s mist and fog will clear – giving way to a dry and sunny day.

It will be cool, with maximum temperatures of 12C to 14C. That night will be mainly dry, with clear spells and mostly light winds at first.

Thursday may see “strong winds” in the morning, as there is a “high probability” Storm Lorenzo may track near or over Ireland.

There is a risk of severe winds developing later that evening, depending on how the storm tracks. There will be spells of rain, with high seas and swells.
