Met Éireann Issues Status Orange Warning As Snow Hits Parts of Ireland

Met Éireann have increased their Status Yellow alert yesterday evening to a Status Orange alert this morning as plummeting temperatures and the threat of snow continues. Freezing temperatures across the country has seen snow fall in a number of counties. Motorists and pedestrians are once more being warned to take extra care this morning and into the afternoon as there is a danger of black ice. The national forecaster has predicted a “bitterly cold” day, with hail, sleet and snow showers in most areas. The places expected to be most affected by snow include Munster, Connacht and parts of Ulster. Here’s what some parts of the country woke up to this morning.
