The national forecaster has warned of a significant change in conditions, with the current sunny and dry spell set to give way to heavy rain and wintry showers next week.
While sunny conditions are expected to continue on Saturday (March 21) with temperatures reaching 17°C, things will unfortunately take a turn from Sunday onwards.
Sunday will be cloudy, but mostly dry, with a slight dip in temperatures, with highs of between 10C and 14C.
Monday will be mostly dry with some sunny spells, though it will become increasingly cloudy as light rain moves into northwestern areas later in the day. Temperatures will reach highs of 10°C to 13°C, with southwest winds strengthening from moderate to fresher levels in western and northwestern coastal parts.
However, conditions are set to take a turn for the worse on Tuesday, which will see outbreaks of heavy rain.
Met Éireann warns: "The rain will gradually clear southeastwards through the day, with sunny spells and fairly widespread showers following, some of hail, with the chance of the off rumble of thunder.
"A blustery day with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh and gusty southwesterly winds veering westerly, strong to near gale force and gusty in western coastal parts."
Wednesday is looking to be a windy, showery day, with some heavy showers and a chance of thunder.
"Some will be wintry too, especially through the morning, and again later. There’ll also be some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of just 5 to 9 degrees, but feeling colder with the added wind chill from fresh to strong and gusty northwest winds, reaching near gale to gale force in western and northern coastal parts," the national forecaster predicts.
Thursday will begin with frost and icy conditions, before wintry showers move in later in the day.
It is expected to stay largely dry, though temperatures will be low, with highs of just 5°C to 8°C.
According to Met Éireann: ‘It looks like the weather will be mixed and changeable over the following few days, with some rain and drizzle from time to time as weather fronts break through, but some dry and sunnier spells too with high pressure moving close by."
‘It’s likely to continue on the cool side with some frost."
