hazardous conditions

There is a potential for severe weather this weekend.

As you may have noticed, the weather is rather horrible at the moment and the bad news is it’s set to continue for the next few days.

Not only is it noticeably colder than recent weeks, but it is also extremely rainy and windy – a delightful combination altogether.

Although there are a couple of Status Yellow weather warnings in place for specific counties, see here for more, there’s now a Weather Advisory warning in place for the entire country.

There is a strong possibility that there could be ‘severe weather’ on Saturday and the national weather forecaster has issued an advisory warning for the entire country.

Here’s what you can expect:

“Potential for severe weather on Saturday 15th December. Hazardous conditions may result from heavy rain, and possibly wind.”

This warning comes into effect from Saturday 15 December 2018 00:01 and remains in place until Saturday 15 December 2018 23:59.

Met Éireann explains:

“A deepening area of low pressure is expected to track near Ireland on Saturday bringing heavy rain and the potential for a period very strong winds. Exact details regarding this weather system remain uncertain so please keep up to date with the forecast”.

You can check out the full forecast in detail here.

Carlow Weather has also been sharing some updates and as you’ll see below, it looks like it’s going to be a very wet and windy day.
