A mother has been arrested in Romania, after being accused of sexually abusing her 11-month daughter in exchange for cash.
The mother-of-two was reported to officials after the FBI uncovered files of her abusing her daughter online while they were investigating a different case of child pornography in the area.
According to
Metro UK, Romanian authorities were alerted to a username brunetelovex2, who was sharing indecent images and pictures of a baby being sexually exploited online. They later tracked payments made to the mother of two via Western Union.
Details of transactions from June 2014 and October 2015 on the accused’s bank statements also found payments from seven people from accounts in the USA, the UK, Belgium and Holland.
When arrested, the woman told prosecutors that she wasn’t concerned by her actions as she didn’t feel the baby would be emotionally affected because she was so young:
“I agreed to do these things with my daughter because I thought that she couldn’t have suffered any trauma. I thought that it was all just a game.
“Some of my clients knew that I had been giving birth to a baby. They asked me to undress her and to touch her.
“I agreed to do that in exchange of money. Some of them were paying me with $500 (€460), others with $100 (€90).”
The woman now faces up to 15 years in jail if found guilty.
