Mother receives life sentence for murdering two daughters who ‘got in the way’ of her sex life

“Blameless young children.”

A woman has been jailed for murdering her two daughters who “got in the way” of her sex life.

Louise Porton received a life sentence today after killing three-year-old Lexi and 18-month-old Scarlett in January and February 2018.

The three-year-old was admitted to hospital near Warwickshire last year with breathing difficulties. She was discharged and found dead by paramedics in mid January.

18 days later, Porton phoned emergency services and said that Scarlett had become unwell in the car on the way to hospital.

Paramedics found that the 18-month-old had been dead for some time.

Sky News reports that the mother had attempted to kill her daughter twice before.

Warwickshire Police said that her recent Google searches referenced death and questions about why her three-year-old had “stop breathing [sic].”

Mrs Justice Yip said that Porton’s actions were “evil” and “calculated” before issuing her sentence.

“These were blameless young children who were plainly vulnerable and ought to have been able to rely on their mother to protect and nurture them,” she said.

“Instead you took their young lives away.”

Lexi and Scarlett’s father, Chris Draper, said that he was “broken” as a result of his daughters’ deaths.

“I don’t know how I will go on as I have nothing to live for. Why did Louise do something so evil to our daughters?” he said in a statement.

“Maybe if social services had listened to me, they would still be alive today. I hate Louise. No punishment will ever be enough.”
