A mother has been accused of stabbing a teacher to death in front of her class in France.
The 34-year old teacher was leading a class of five and six year olds in Albi, Southern France when the mother attacked her.
Education Minister Benoit Hamon travelled straight to the school, and told local media that the mother of a pupil "committed this abominable act in a class against a remarkable teacher."
Hamon said the mother suffered from "serious psychiatric problems," and pledged support for teachers in the face of angry or violent parents.
Police said the mother was taken into custody. The teacher killed left behind two small daughters.
