A newborn baby was found in the Nativity Scene in the Holy Child Jesus Church in Queens on Monday, earning the nickname 'Baby Jesus'.
Jose Moran, the janitor at the church discovered the baby swaddled in purple towels after hearing crying after returning from his lunch break Monday afternoon. He told The New York Daily News:
'I looked around and didn’t see anyone,” he recalled. “That got me curious. I followed the cries. I walked to the little nativity home we had installed inside the church ... I couldn’t believe my eyes. The baby was wrapped in towels. He still had his umbilical cord. He was next to the Virgin (Mary).’
