They were the last thing girls popping out to buy a clothes for a party or meeting friends for coffee expected to see.
As One Direction mania sweeps the world, fans never expected to see the boys play live for anything less than expensive tickets and a few nights street-camping to get them.
But yesterday, people who had just popped out to the shops were treated to an exclusive live set by One D boys Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

The crowds gather quickly as the boys start singing.
The two boys set up the band at a London shopping centre and began to sing their chart-topping hit, 'What Makes You Beautiful'. London shoppers couldn't believe their eyes.
Despite selling 12 million records worldwide, Liam and Niall seemed completely at home busking in the Westfield London shopping centre. The duo were followed by screaming girls and a camera crew for what the boys planned as a surprise gig for London yesterday.

We're wondering where the rest of the boys were? Harry on the look-out for a cougar or two, Zayn pining for Little Miz girlfriend and Louis...?

Liam holds the mike out so Niall can sing his 'What Makes You Beautiful' line.
The boys wooed the crowds as Niall sat on the makeshift stage strumming his guitar and sang with bandmate Liam. Westfield house band Soul Chango joined the boys for the gig.

It was a day Westfield shoppers won't forget in a hurry...
Westfield seems the the spot to be with Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Jake Gyllenhaal and Lady Gaga all spotted at the centre in the past.
