Online furniture company Wayfair are creating 160 jobs in Galway

An online homewares and furniture retailer is creating 160 jobs in Galway.

RTÉ report that Wayfair, which already employs 200 people in Galway City are expanding to a bigger premises on the Tuam Road and will be recruiting new staff in the coming months.

There are positions going in the areas of marketing and sales, and call centre personnel are also required.

The company already employs more than 2,000 people in America, Australia, Germany and the United States.

It opened its European Operations centre in Galway in 2009, and the company are expanding steadily, concentrating primarily on the German market.

VP of Sales and Services, Liz Graham told The Irish Times:

“Our existing Galway team has been instrumental in providing Wayfair customers with an outstanding shopping experience. We are delighted to expand that team with more top-notch professionals in the area as we scale our operations to keep pace with rapid growth of our business”.
