We’ve all been there, wandering around the aisles in Ikea, wondering how comfy the display beds REALLY are.
Well if you’re shopping in the Chinese store, it’s pretty common practice to try it out for yourself.
Photographer Kevin Frayer was visiting the Beijing branch of the furniture superstore when he found enough afternoon nappers snoozing to build an entire photo essay.
Speaking to Mashable about his photo catalogue, Frayer said:
"It's really hard to not notice it the first time you visit the store. People are pretty much sprawled out on any available piece of furniture and I was struck by how comfortable everyone looked. Kind of like the sofa-bed version of test-driving a car."
The photographer also noticed that the new ritual even sees Chinese customers making a day out of their shopping trip, bringing tea and snack supplies as part of their perfect nap.
We’re not sure we’d be as quick to jump into bed with the display model, but when in Rome… (or China, evidently)
