Prince Harry says life in the US is what Diana would have wanted for him

Harry said he had no plans to move back to the UK

Four years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California after announcing they would be stepping back from their duties as senior royals.

On Wednesday, Harry made an appearance at the New York Times Dealbook Summit. There, he spoke to Andrew Sorkin who asked him if he planned on remaining in the US for good.

Harry said: "I do, I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here".

He said it feels "as though it's the life my mum wanted" for him.

During the interview, Harry spoke about growing up in the public spotlight and the impact media attention had on his late mother Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997 while being chased by photographers in Paris.

"I think again, when you are kind of trapped within this bubble, it kind of feels like there's no way out," Harry said.

"What happened to my mum and the fact that I was a kid and felt helpless, there comes the inner turmoil. I felt helpless.

"One of my biggest weaknesses is feeling helpless."

Harry said his biggest worry was that something this would "happen to me, or to my wife, or to my kids".

He added that he is just focusing on being "the best husband and the best dad that I can be" at the moment.

In recent days there have been reports of a split between Harry and Meghan. When asked about the media interest in his marriage, Harry joked that he had moved house and divorced "10-12 times" if the press were to be believed.

"It's just like what? It's hard to keep up with but that's why you sort of ignore of it," he said.
