The exhumation began early this morning, and was conducted on the foot of a ministerial order granted in accordance with the Coroners Act 1962.
It was conducted by the Killarney District and assisted by the Garda Technical Bureau, a forensic anthropologist and relevant personnel from Kerry County Council and the Health Service Executive.
The Coroner for this region is being kept advised and the remains were removed this afternoon.
