Sarah Payne Statue Stolen From Local Primary School

A bronze statue given to a primary school to honour the memory of murdered student Sarah Payne has been stolen by thieves. Surrey police believe the 2ft statue, which was presented to Sarah’s former school Burhill County Primary School in Hersham, Surrey, is believed to have been stolen at around 1am by three people. Appealing to the public for information, local Sergeant Marc Nettleingham said: “We are carrying out a number of inquiries to identify the offenders responsible for this theft, which is particularly reprehensible given that it was presented to the school in memory of Sarah Payne.” Sarah was eight-years old when she was abducted and killed in 2000 by convicted paedophile Roy Whiting.
