Oh Samantha Brick. First you annoyed women the world over with your outrageous claims that you were simply “too beautiful” to be liked by your female peers and now? Now you’re giving out to them for reading.
Yes ladies, the Brick is back but don’t worry. This time she isn’t here to make you feel bad about the fact that you’re not as gorgeous as her. This time she’s here to make you feel bad for the fact that you’re reading Fifty Shades of Grey.
Yes, yes. Shame on you, reading that filth – I mean, seriously like, wouldn’t you rather be reading about Samantha Brick instead? Eh…yeah…
Anyway, Samantha has a huge problem with Fifty Shades of Grey. According to the writer, it is nothing more than “pornography aimed at women.” Shocking, we know.
“Giving it this name of mummy porn, using this kind of safe, middle-class word, makes women think it’s okay to read it,” said Samantha, speaking on This Morning.
“I’m not saying that they shouldn’t read it – but let’s not kid ourselves. It’s degrading,” she added.
Samantha went on to say that the “nature of the content of the book is demeaning and degrading to who we are.” And that it does nothing except portray the female characters as sex objects.
Does anyone else find this a little bit rich coming from a woman who rose to notoriety by using her looks and declaring that she was the fairest of them all?
Oh and Samantha has another reason as to why you should stop reading that nasty little book – did you know that it could pose a major risk to your health?
“Without meaning to be flippant, sex games do go wrong. Hospitals are full of people who have been injured this way. Deaths have occurred. S&M isn’t to be taken lightly,” she said.
So S&M shouldn’t be taken lightly and it’s perfectly okay to exploit yourself in the name of getting a few column inches, but when fictional female characters consensually agree to become someone’s sex slave it’s an outrage.
Good to know.
