Stephanie Roche Signs Deal With UK Club Following Houston Dash Disappointment
Stephanie Roche has announced today that she has signed a deal to play with Sunderland Ladies.
The Irish footballer, who shot to fame after being nominated for a FIFA Puskás Award, was dealt a massive blow in May when she was dropped from her contract with US club Houston Dash after only three months.
Roche has since admitted she was "devastated" to have her time with the club cut short but had some much more positive news today, with confirmation that she will join the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) club.
"It’s great to be at Sunderland Ladies and I can’t wait to get started. I know there is a high standard in WSL 1 and it’s something I’m looking forward to being a part of. The team have done really well this season and hopefully I can play my part too.”
