“Weather models have flipped backed to show a short blast of cold air for next weekend with a Northerly feed."
Continuing, he explained not to panic as temperatures won't plummet into the minus degrees just yet.
“The charts are showing upper air temps, so don’t panic it won’t be -8c, however, a feed of cold Northerly air like shown in the weather models would mean cool weather at lower levels, mainly dry though."Met Eireann also noted that although it's going to be a sunny weekend, there are chances of rain and wind due to the incoming cold snap.
“Dry across much of the country today but it will be rather cloudy and there is the chance of patchy rain and drizzle affecting Atlantic coastal areas at times," they stated.
