Just when we thought things were getting bitter.

It appears Irish weather is once again full of surprises and this time, it’s by bringing us a mini heatwave next week.

According to Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly, temperatures are set to hit 20 degrees in some parts of Ireland on Wednesday.

Writing on Facebook, the weatherman shared the news writing:

“So while those of you heading to Spain and Portugal could see 40C next week the Jet Stream is also heading on a little holiday again to Iceland and Norway bringing a nice week ahead but a big range in temps from a possible minimum of 2C Monday morning to a possible high of 20C Wednesday!

“A nice day ahead tomorrow with plenty of sunny spells in the afternoon but very breezy with strong Northwest wind, up to 14C.

“Cold then tomorrow night with a risk of frost.

“Monday looks a good day with sunny spells and light breeze, around 15C. Risk of frost again Monday night with temps dropping down close to 0C.

“Tuesday will be mainly dry but possibly more cloud, up to 16C in strong Southerly breeze.

“Wednesday then sees warmer air arrive possibly hitting 20C where the sun breaks through but more cloud than previous days in Westerly breeze.

“Thursday and Friday look settled and mild at present.”

So while Wednesday is set to be a hot one, don’t go into work tomorrow expecting sunny rays as the temperatures are expected to dip a little tomorrow before getting warmer for the rest of the week.

Beach Wednesday, anyone?
