After the seemingly never-ending rain yesterday, we were kiiiind of hoping the weather would improve.

Sadly, that’s not the case. The rain is here to stay – at least for a little while – and it’s going to get a lot colder, just in time for the weekend.

Yes, the relatively warm-to-mild temperatures of 7C to 12C that we’ve been having so far this November are on the way out – as some parts of the country are set to drop below zero this weekend.

Today will see widespread showers with some thunder, although the showers will mostly die out during the morning. While some sunny spells will develop, the showers will return on the south coasts later on.

Highest temperatures will range from 6C to 9C during the day, dropping to between 2C to 6C at night.

On Friday it will be mainly dry in the northern half of the country with sunny spells. In the southern half there will be showers or longer spells of rain.

Highest temperatures will range from 5C or 6C in the north to 9C or 10C in the south, in moderate easterly breezes.

Over night, there will be showers or longer spells of rain – however, the northern part of the country will stay mostly dry and clear.

Lowest temperatures will be around 0 degrees in the north and between 3C and 6C elsewhere in light to moderate easterly winds.

Saturday is looking mainly dry with sunny spells and just isolated showers. The highest temperatures will be between 7C to 10C, before dropping to between 0 and 3C with some frost over night.

However, it will be less cold along the east and south coasts.

Sunday will be fairly sunny and dry apart from the odd shower on east coasts. Highest temperatures will be between 7C to 10C, but it’s not all good news.

A frosty night will follow with lowest temperatures between -1C and 2C. Again east and south coast will be less cold due to onshore winds.
