O’Neill also appeared on Sons of Anarchy and he passed away in June. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office have released additional information today.

The death of Irish actor Alan O’Neill has been declared as an accident, the L.A. County Coroner’s Office have announced.

PEOPLE magazine reported that the star of Fair City and Sons of Anarchy died of sequelae of chronic ethanol (alcohol) overconsumption. Blunt force head trauma and coronary artery atherosclerosis were also found on his body.

A spokesperson for the L.A. County Coroner’s Office said that they believe the actor fell and died.

In terms of his professional career, O’Neill appeared on seven episodes of Sons of Anarchy but he’s more fondly remembered by Irish audiences for his performance as Keith McGrath in Fair City from 2006-2012.

O’Neill passed away at a residence in Toluca Lake on June 6. He was 47-years-old.

His agent, Annette Walsh, said in a statement to PEOPLE at the time:

“It’s with sadness I confirm the passing of Alan O’Neill, a brilliant funny and kind human being.

“My thoughts are with his partner, children, family and friends at this time. I’ll personally miss knowing Alan isn’t sharing the planet with us any longer, despite the miles between L.A. and Dublin. Alan was only ever a phone call away.

“May he rest in peace.”
