Organisers of Dublin’s St Patrick’s Festival have revealed who the Grand Marshall of this year’s parade will be.
It's been announced that 1987 Tour de France winner Stephen Roche will be leading the parade from O’Connell Street through the city on March 17
th.
“Throughout my career, I have become accustomed to seeing city streets lined with people but this will be a truly unique experience, one that I am greatly looking forward to,”
he said.

Described by the organisers as “one of Ireland’s greatest ever sporting stars,” the Dundrum man retired from professional cycling after his historic Paris win.
Previous Grand Marshalls have included boxing hero Katie Taylor, singer Nicky Byrne and the late Dubliners singer Ronnie Drew.
