What a way to kick off the Bank Holiday weekend.

It’s time to double-check those tickets, as there is officially a new millionaire after last night’s [October 24] Lotto draw.

The numbers drawn for the main jackpot – which was worth a staggering €3,946,299 – were: 8. 19, 24, 29, 42, 45 and the bonus was 7.

While nobody won the big prize, someone did get the Match 5+ Bonus sum – €134,029.

Meanwhile, more than 26,000 players managed to win a prize in the big draw.

It was the Lotto plus 1 draw that saw one lucky player strike it rich, as the numbers 8, 15, 22, 32, 34, 41 and the bonus digit 46 came up.

There was one player that won the jackpot, which is worth €1,000,000 – and according to the National Lottery, the winning ticket was sold in Cork.

No other details are available at this time.

The winning numbers in the Lotto Plus 2 draw, which was worth €250,000, were: 3, 16, 24, 30, 31, 34 and the bonus was 22.

The news comes as one lucky Lotto player scooped up just over €5.7 million earlier this month.

The National Lottery have revealed that the winner purchased their ticket at the Spar Express on Rathfarnham Road in South Dublin.

Shop owner Ken O’Connor said that the staff were “buzzing with excitement” over the win.

He continued:

“We simply can’t believe it! This is our first big Lotto win and staff and customers are buzzing with excitement.

“We are on a lucky run as we recently sold a Scratch Card that won a customer €25,000. But this is amazing, we are hoping it is somebody local but we are a busy shop with a lot of passing traffic so we don’t know.”
