The PSNI arrested a man and two women. All three are aged in their 20s.
The child's death is being treated as suspicious, the PSNI confirmed in a statement.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place and will determine the cause of the child's death.
The child's identity nor age have not been disclosed at this time.
The harrowing discovery was made on Sunday, October 13th.
According to reports, the child died in the Windmill Court area of Dungannon yesterday, but their cause of death is not known at this time.
Police in Co. Tyrone issued an update following the arrests:
"A man and two women, aged in their 20s, have been arrested following the death of a child in the Windmill Court area of Dungannon on Sunday 13 October.
"A post mortem will take place to determine the cause of death, however, the death is currently being treated as suspicious."
