Arcadia Group have announced plans to close 23 stores across the UK and Ireland as part of a rescue plan.
The stores up for closure include Dorthy Perkins, Topshop, Topman and Burton. The proposal will see the rent cut at another 194 outlets.
According to The Mirror, Arcadia chief executive Ian Grabiner said it was a "tough but necessary decision for the business."
The stores which may be closed have 520 staff members. The retail group have said they will try and move them within the business.
Any staff members who are not able to be reassigned will be eligible for applicable redundancy payments.

The stores will remain open and continue trading as Arcadia Group looks for approval over the proposal. The meetings are said to be scheduled for June 5.
The company's other locations, as well as their online sites, will be unaffected.
