American Airlines reacted moments later saying that they took threats like this very seriously (they’ve since deleted their tweet):
The tweets quickly went viral which was enough to send “Sarah” into an online meltdown, responding quickly to the messages,writing that she "was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine."
"I was kidding pls don't I'm just a girl pls. and I'm not from Afghanistan [SIC]," she said.
“I'm just a fangirl pls I don't have evil thoughts and plus I'm a white girl [SIC]”.
Roland Ekkers from Rotterdam Police told AFP that the teenager had reported to the police this morning accompanied by a relative.
Ekkers explained that officials were investigating "because of the uproar caused over the weekend".
Adding: "We would like to find out what her motives were."
The young girl continued to tweet: "I'm not going to tell my parents. They'll tell me to delete my acc omg that will be the end of my life [SIC]."
"I always wanted to be famous, but I meant like Demi Lovato famous, not Osama bin laden famous [SIC]."
It is unknown how long the teen will be held for.
