Water Charges Protester Sustains Facial Injuries After Pane Of Glass Shatters

Warning - this article contains images and video which some readers may find upsetting.  __________________________________________________ A woman sustained injuries to her face following an anti-water charges protest in Swords on Monday evening. According to reports, the woman was believed to be one of four protesters at the buildings of Fingal County Council. It has been reported that as Gardaí attempted to remove protesters from the scene, a pane of glass shattered resulting in "minor injuries" to the woman. The woman was left bleeding after the glass shattered. A statement from Gardaí read: “There was a protest at Fingal County Council on Monday night and Gardaí put a security cordon around the premises. “Four protesters breached the cordon and went inside where they blocked a revolving door. “In the process of removing them from the building, a glass pane was broken. The lady received minor injuries to her head and was treated by an ambulance." A graphic video of the incident was later posted on the Right 2 Water Swords Facebook page.
