This is what the weather will be like for the Bank Holiday weekend

Olivia Hayes

It’s nearly here.

We feel like we’re just recovering from the last Bank Holiday weekend and now another one is just around the corner.

Thankfully, it’s not looking too bad but let’s be real, you honestly never know what the Irish weather will spring on us.

While today will be warm enough, with the chance of some drizzle, the weekend isn’t looking that bad.

For today, it will be “bright or sunny spells in many areas today with some scattered showers. Cloudier in west and south Munster with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with light to moderate northwest breezes.

“On Friday, there’ll be a good deal of dry weather and a few showers. It will become cooler with highest temperatures ranging from 9 degrees in the north to 13 degrees in the south with moderate northerly breezes.”

While it might be a bit chilly at times, it seems like the Bank Holiday will be dry enough (and honestly that’s all we’re asking for).

On Saturday, it will be “mostly dry and bright with good sunshine through the day, but fairly cool with highest daytime temperatures of only 9 to 12 degrees in light northerly breezes. The night will be clear and chilly with lows around 0 degrees allowing grass frost to develop.”

There will be “little change [on Sunday]; dry, sunny and cool with highs of 9 to 12 degrees in almost calm conditions. Cold again overnight.”

While on Monday, there will be a “few light showers across the north of the country but in general little break in the dry, bright and cool weather.”
