The winner of last night's €175 million lotto jackpot has contacted the National Lottery.
Lotto spokesperson Miriam Donohoe said that the EuroMillions ticket holder contacted the office and gave the correct serial number from the ticket.
"Somebody out there has called us and it seems they have the winning ticket, although it has to be verified yet", she said on
Today with Sean O'Rourke.
Donohoe did not say whether the winner was an individual or part of a syndicate but it has since been revealed that the ticket was bought in Reilly's Daybreak in The Naul, Co Dublin.
This is
the first time someone has won the top EuroMillions prize since January 1.
The numbers pulled in the life-changing draw were 1, 8, 18, 19, 39. The lucky stars were 7 and 9.
Last night's winner will take home an extremely considerable €175,475,380. The sum is the biggest jackpot ever claimed by a ticket holder in Ireland.
To date, there have been more than a dozen Irish winners of the EuroMillions jackpot.
