A woman has appeared in court today, charged with the murder of a 42-year-old man in Rathfarnham on Thursday night.
Merci Peters, who is 41-years-old and believed to be from Sierra Leone, was previously charged in connection to the death of Dublin man Tyrone McKenna after his body was found at his home in Marley Court.
According to Breaking News, Peters “rose from her seat and began yelling” after Judge Michael Coughlan ordered that an immediate medical and psychiatric assessment be carried out.
“I stabbed the man in full knowledge of what was going on! Self defence – no psychiatric assessment,” she said.
She has been remanded in custody and will appear in court next Thursday.
