This woman filmed herself pouring bleach on men to stop them manspreading

Anna Dovgalyuk said the bleach was deserved because: 'Men demonstrating their alpha-manhood in the subway with women and children around deserve contempt'

‘Men demonstrating their alpha-manhood in the subway with women and children around deserve contempt.’

A woman has filmed herself pouring a bleach solution – 30 times stronger than the household cleaning product – on men “manspreading” on the St Petersburg Metro.

Anna Dovgalyuk, 20, said:

“Men demonstrating their alpha-manhood in the subway with women and children around deserve contempt,” and that she was acting “on behalf of everyone who has to endure the manifestations of men declaring their macho qualities on public transportation.”

She defined manspreading as “the habit of some men to sit widely with their legs spread, taking up more than one seat” and “an act of gender aggression,” before pouring bleach on about 70 men.

A YouTube video titled ‘Spread your legs? Here you go’ shows Anna emptying a bottle of high-strength bleach onto strangers’ crotches, which was stronger than the household version of the solution so it “eats colours in the fabric in a matter of minutes, leaving indelible stains.”

Anna said the stains served as “identification spots, so everyone can immediately understand which body part controls the behaviour of these men.”

The video also featured tenuous statements suggesting manspreading was more likely among men of “lower social status.”

Last year Anna went viral by flashing her underwear at commuters in protest of Russia’s upskirting laws.
