Add us as a preferred source on Google »A young girl is in a stable but serious condition in Temple Street Hospital following an incident at a Cork residence.
Gardaí were called to a residence in Charleville in Cork on Monday night, August 19th.
They were alerted about a disturbance at a residence on the New Line at approximately 11:30 pm.
Gardaí confirmed that considerable criminal damage to a vehicle and house was observed upon arrival.
They stated: "A female child was transferred from the scene by ambulance services to Cork University Hospital.
"She has since been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street."
Gardaí confirmed the young child is in a serious but stable condition.
They're urging witnesses to come forward following the incident.
"An Garda Síochána is appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage and assault at a residence in Charleville, Co. Cork on Monday night, 19th August 2024.
"Gardaí were alerted to a disturbance at a residence on the New Line at approximately 11:30 pm."
The scene has been preserved and a technical examination has since been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
Gardaí have asked witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of the New Line in Charleville town on Monday, August 19th between 10.30 pm and midnight should contact Gardaí.
Anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam footage) from the area at the time is encouraged to provide it to Gardaí.
