With peak wedding season just around the corner, many brides and grooms are looking for those last-minute touches to make their big day feel fresh, unique, and unforgettable.
Whether it’s adding a vintage twist to a wedding cake, playing with soft pastel hues, or opting for promcore-inspired suiting, the wedding trends for 2025 are already starting to take shape.
Our favourite one has got to be the rise in people having micro-weddings.
Nicola Barker, head of buying at Suit Direct explained the rise in this charming trend.
"Micro-weddings and elopements are gaining popularity in 2025 as couples seek more intimate and personalized wedding experiences. With rising costs and a desire for meaningful, stress-free celebrations, many couples are opting for smaller, more private ceremonies that focus on the most important people and moments.
"As a result, these celebrations are quickly becoming a trend for couples who want their big day to feel personal, meaningful, and free from the pressure of tradition, whether that’s a trip to Gretna Green or a small ceremony in a back garden."
According to wedding expert Sara Kennedy, Ireland has always been the place where American couples come to elope, but things have flipped.
She told Her.ie: “During Covid, everything had to be stripped back to its raw form which is a legal ceremony and it made couples think differently.
“Couples also saw how lovely an elopement can be. It basically showed couples there is a different way you can do things,” Sara shared.
