Keenan's father, Joseph Jude John Keenan, has also been charged with "attempting to obstruct a constable in the execution of his duty."
The vehicle in question was a Peugeot Partner van and is said to have hit a lady in her 30s, who reportedly sustained "potentially life-changing", on Glenravel Road in Martinstown just before 9pm.
