The British Soap Awards took place on Saturday night in London and this evening they were televised for viewers to see who won each category.

It's safe to say EastEnders won big at this year's awards, taking home eight gongs in total.

The London-based soap won Best Soap, Best Single Episode, Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) won Best Actor and Kellie Bright (Linda Carter) received the award for Best Actress.

The late Anne Kirkbride, who played one of Corrie's most-loved characters Deirdre, was honoured with a posthumous award for Best Scene.
