H&M Just Landed A Very Famous Face for Its Christmas Campaign

We know normal people aren’t allowed to mention the “C” word until the first week of December, but it’s very different for those who work in retail. The goods are already boxed and waiting for our frantic dash to the shops and the campaigns are  in the planning. And it looks like H&M have stolen a march on the competition… 

The Swedish fashion giant has today announced pop icon Katy Perry will star in the 2015 “Holiday Campaign” – American speak for Christmas. Katy will feature in a global TV and print campaign that “celebrates the season in true H&M style, full of joy and togetherness for the holidays”.

“I had such a festive time shooting this larger-than-life holiday commercial with Jonas Åkerlund, and all of the fun clothes, especially my favourite, the Elfie Selfie sweater. H&M has been a part of the evolution of my personal style since I was 13, when I would start to incorporate fun, affordable H&M pieces into my vintage wardrobe. I can’t wait for you to give your wardrobe some sparkle with this magical holiday collection,” said Katy Perry.

“We are so thrilled that Katy Perry will star in our campaign this holiday season. We love everything about Katy, from her incredible talent and energy to her playful sense of personal style,” said Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design.

It’s more good news for Perry, who remains the only female artist to have five Billboard No1s from the same album (“California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, “E.T.” and “Last Friday Night”), and the only artist ever with two videos (“Roar” and “Dark Horse”) at over 1 billion views on Vevo. Katy is currently on her Prismatic World Tour through Europe, Asia and South America.
