With the theme of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, many guests arrived wearing vintage pieces or gowns the designer had created for them years previous.

The theme reflected the Metropolitan Museum's latest collection which showcased Lagerfeld's vast career, displaying the work he did for Fendi, Balmain, Chloe and of course, Chanel.

Many guests arrived in looks that were vintage, with a lot of celebrities showing up in gowns they had worn before.

This year's gala was expected to be the most sustainable yet due to the theme, and it did not fail – but who did it the best?
