You and the gals can now float around in a BYOB hot tub boat

Sarah McKenna Barry

This actually looks super dreamy.

I have four words for you. BYOB hot tub boat.

OK, so it’s actually three words and an acronym, but our excitement still stands, because you can now venture aboard a boat decked out with a hot tub, and it screams girls trip.

Located along the beautiful waters of Athlone, Co. Weastmeath, the Hot Tub Boat, is pitched as “the most relaxing cruise you will ever experience”, and we can fully understand why.

As the pictures demonstrate, a hot tub takes up quite a significant portion of the boat, which allows guests to relax in comfortably warm water, while exploring the sights and sounds Lough Ree has to offer.

A standard excursion takes you and five guests out on a tour of Lough Ree’s interlakes as it passes Glasson Lakehouse, Wineport Lodge, the Marinas – all from the comfort of a hot tub.

On top of that, guests are welcome to bring their own booze, though plastic glasses are requested. The hot tub boat is also decked out with a fully equipped sound system.

The standard option, which costs €180 or €30 per person for a party of six, takes guests for a 75 minute tour on the waters after picking them up from Coosan Point.

The next option comes in at €220 and the tour lasts for 90 minutes. Guests are collected at Hodson Bay for this trip. A slightly more expensive option (€240) has the same duration, but guests are collected from Athlone Town instead.

For guests looking for a super-indulgent experience, then the Sunset Cruise is a solid option. This premium package costs €300 for six guests, and allows guests to enjoy being on the water during the golden hour.

The Hot Tub Boat also offers customisable tours for special occasions.
